In 1700, Vauban conceived the idea of establishing a military port near the Spanish border. This port was neglected until 1722, when the work was taken over by the intendant of Mailly. In 1841 then in 1848, two military commissions were responsible for improving the defense of the port, Port Vendres then appearing, by its position, as the only deep water port, with Toulon, which could receive warships.

With our panoramic photos, traveling, you are in total immersion in a real 360° environment. You are free to look, explore and wander during your visit as you wish. You can click on an element of the panorama which transports you to another site related to the one you came from and allows you to continue the visit. In addition, clickable tags give you access to additional information in the form of photos, texts, sounds or videos.
We work with classic equipment such as a camera, a tripod, a spirit level, various light filters, plus editing software for panoramic photos, and another for assembling and creating the 360° virtual tour.
Our virtual itinerant tours do not claim to replace the work of a tour guide or a professional tourist guide. However, we are keen to collect as much information as possible on the panoramas we offer you in order to give them a relatively informative dimension.
